Tours require about 4 hours of time including a half hour of
gearing up, instruction, launch time, and about 2 1/2 to 3 hours
of unhurried paddling in quiet inlets and bays. Expect
lovely scenery, relaxed time, perhaps the sight of a seal,
osprey, or eagles, terns, ducks, or even a deer at
water's
edge.
Temperatures
on the water can be very cool compared to ambient temperature
on land. So do
wear a long sleeved shirt, bring that extra layer or windbreaker,
wear
long trousers (preferably not cotton), and shoes or sandals you
do not mind getting wet. There may be weather changes including
a touch
of light rain or even fog. All can enhance the trip in magical
ways. The rain may present the gift of a rainbow to frame
your vista. A gentle fog
can add mystery to the magic of being on the water.
Our
guide will safely negotiate challenges and make
decisions
based
on factors at hand. Conditions determine where we paddle.
For example, there are locations clear - even when
there is dense fog
on elsewhere on the Peninsula.
Simply
expect a safe journey and quality time on the water.
